The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) draws on the research and networks of the University of Cambridge to support business leaders and organizations in tackling critical global challenges related to sustainability.

The Africa Programme is led from Cape Town, with the South Africa office established 20 years ago to extend CISL’s work in Africa. It connects CISL's globally recognized education, convening, foresight, and innovation programs with local expertise and the realities of developing world contexts.

CISL aims to challenge, inform, and support leaders to deliver sustainable change across complex and interconnected issues. Its executive education and thought partnership programs are designed to enable professionals to reconcile profitability with sustainability, work collaboratively, develop solutions to shared challenges, and catalyze systemic change and leadership.

The executive education offerings include the Sustainability Practitioner Programme (SPP), designed for middle to senior managers. Participants evaluate the impact of systemic pressures on their organizations across global and local economic, social, and environmental issues; apply systems thinking for complex problem-solving; explore sustainability as core to organizational strategy; and develop practical action plans to drive internal change within their areas of influence.

The flagship Prince of Wales’s Business & Sustainability Programme is intended for senior executives, supporting their understanding of how to respond to complex global trends in a commercially relevant and sustainable way.

CISL also convenes senior executives in East and Southern Africa through its Corporate Leaders Group (CLG) Africa and delivers customized programs aligned with clients' desired outcomes.
