Upcoming Event: Biodiversity Risk Seminar

In December 2022, the final text of "Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework" (GBF) was agreed upon at COP15, marking a significant step forward in global environmental policy. This framework emphasizes the urgent need for transformative actions to halt and reverse the loss of biodiversity by 2030. Notably, Target 15 of the GBF specifically requires financial institutions to regularly monitor, evaluate, and transparently report their impacts on biodiversity in their operations, supply chains, and investment portfolios.

As a result of this, GIP WG1 has conducted a survey on biodiversity conservation.  The results of this survey will be presented at this workshop, aiming to identify the challenges GIP members face and their future expectations in biodiversity conservation. Valuable insights on how financial institutions can effectively support biodiversity conservation, mitigate related risks, and encourage innovative practices will be shared at the workshop.

GIP members are most welcome to join us in-person in Beijing, but online participation is also provided for those who cannot come to offline meeting.
